00:16 Hi, and welcome to the Year Glowing podcast. I am excited to share my story with you today. If you're new here, maybe you found me recently, like in the last year or two, and you're like, who is this girl Kim, and why does she have so many followers?
00:32 Like, she seems like an average mom. How did she get here? I, I'm excited to tell you like my background, like where it all started, how we got here, and maybe even where we're headed in in 2023.
00:47 But first couple of announcements. One, number one, my knitwear line is coming back, if you missed it in the fall, in November, I released a knitwear line with So, so You, and it was, it was so much fun to create because I really get to sh you know, pick out what I wanna wear.
01:08 Like what do I like to wear? Comfy clothes, comfort, like that is my mo like I need to be comfortable or it's not happening.
01:18 So we released a knitwear line and it was so much fun. The colors are just dreamy. They're so comfortable. But with this new drop, it's gonna be February 7th, mark, your calendar February 7th.
01:31 It's a three day ordering window and we have a new color release. It's this beautiful shade of pink. It's light, but it's not baby pink.
01:41 It's not like bubble gum pink. It's so pretty. And it's like a heathered heathered pink. So there's like light, different light, pinks, likem.
01:49 Oh my gosh. It's beautiful. It's hard to explain verbally to you, but when you see it, you're gonna love it.
01:55 All of the pieces that we released in November will be there in pink and in the other colors. And there are two new pieces.
02:02 There are two new pieces. There are a pair of niche shorts. It's kinda like a waffle knit and then the a matching like crop top that has a scrunch and a collar.
02:15 That sounds crazy, but when you see again, you would love it. It's so cute. I've never seen anything like it.
02:21 I thought of my breastfeeding mom friends out there. I'm like, oh my gosh, this is so perfect. Or even if you're pregnant, have a little bump.
02:28 It's adorable. Adorable. So we do a three day ordering window for a couple reasons. One, there is no inventory. Everything is made to order.
02:37 So this brand, so, so you that i, I partner with to, to make this happen. They're very eco-friendly, sustainable. There's zero waste when we do these, these launches, right?
02:52 So we take orders for three days. At the end of the three days the orders go into production and they start making everything.
03:00 And then, and then it gets shipped out. So what that means for you is . It's better to order than not, because there's a chance it won't come back.
03:09 Like I don't, we will not be doing knitwear again unless it's next winter and it, I'm going to, I don't know, I don't even know if I'm gonna do that.
03:18 But yeah, this is the last chance to get this knitwear line last or only opportunity to get the pink color.
03:24 And that's another thing is like their inventory changes, like what threads that they have available, what, what knits they have available, what fleece they have available.
03:32 So everything is always changing. So this is a very limited time deal. We are gonna do, ooh, I think we're doing the buy two get one free.
03:43 I will put it in the show notes when, when I have confirmation on that. But we always like to throw in a little deal.
03:50 Last time we did buy one get one half off. This time it's gonna be buy two, get one free. Cuz we love that.
03:56 It just makes it easier for you to make yourself like a little outfit. Oh my gosh, I'm excited. So February 7th through the ninth again, the company I do it with is so amazing.
04:08 They are just the nicest people. Unfortunately you cannot do an exchange because of the, the way the production works. So if you get something and you're like, oh, this is, this is longer than I wanted you can return it and get your money back, but you unfortunately, we can't send you a different size.
04:32 And the other thing about returning that I didn't even know until one of my friends told me, cuz she's like, Kim, I had to return my sports bra.
04:37 It was a little big, so I just returned it and they sent her a shipping label to ship it to and it ships to a woman shelter and she got a full refund.
04:48 The bra goes to a woman in need and it's ju I can't, I don't even have words. Like it's just, so I would not do this partnership with any other brand other than so, so u because they're amazing.
04:59 All right, so knitwear dropping February 7th. All right, next, oh, I'm excited for this one. We are doing your glowing merch in swag boxes and I want to send you one, if you are listening, I hope your ears just like ch chirped up.
05:18 Let, I want to send them to my friends over here on the podcast that are tuning in, that are downloading the episode, listening, hearing my words.
05:28 Like, I wanna send you a gift. I wanna send, like, I wanna do like my biggest fan fans gifting. I don't know what I'm gonna call it yet, but please, if you are interested in receiving some free merch in an, in exchange for being my Hype girl and sharing it on social media, leaving a review, oh my gosh, that is huge on podcasts.
05:50 Like it takes you two minutes to just click leave review five stars. I like listening to Kim, I'm a mom, whatever you wanna write in there, I would love that.
06:02 And I would love to send some of you these gift boxes I'm working on making them kind of by hand, but also I'm reaching out to some brands that I want to include in the box.
06:14 And I'm, we're having merch made right now, so ooh, podcast kim perry.com, email me if you want in. Go leave a review and we'll make it happen.
06:25 Okay, next. Moving on. A couple of new things that I ordered recently within the last week that I wanna share.
06:30 , I've been doing some organizing every January. This happens. Like I just feel like the need to purge, the need to just clean things up.
06:39 It's like pre spring cleaning. It's like, yes, I cleaned up from Christmas, but it still feels like we need to get things in order again.
06:47 It's a new year. We need that fresh start. So last year I did my closet and I did all matching hangers.
06:54 I got these beautiful hangers on Amazon, my closet. Now it, it needs a, a freshen up. But that was like my goal last year to have all matching hangers make it look nice.
07:07 This year I wanted to tackle my bathroom drawers and like cabinets. So we're working on that. I got a bunch of clear bins from Target and it's looking good.
07:18 I kind of wish I made a reel like a before and after, but at the moment that it happened, I was like, no, I just gotta do it.
07:23 Like it's bothering me so bad, I'm not even gonna document. I'm just gonna make it happen and be happy with it and not have to share with the world.
07:31 But I bought some organiz event from the, oh, what is it? Bright Room is the brand. They're perfect, they fit.
07:37 It's just, it's, it's kind of pricey. I mean, it's cheaper than the Container store , but it looks so good.
07:45 It's so worth it. And then I also got the girls new hangers for their closet, still waiting. Those for wait, waiting for those to come in.
07:53 Their closets need serious renovation, but we're working with what we got. Okay. And then something else that I ordered that I didn't know I needed, the brand is called hoo-ha .
08:05 It's underwear. Yeah, it's just hoo-ha dot com. u dash ha. So here's the thing. I didn't know I'm wearing the parade underwear.
08:16 That's a little tmi and I, I think they fit, but I'm kind of like moving around in them a lot.
08:22 Like I feel like they may, they're moving around on me a little bit, but I like them because at the waist you don't feel anything.
08:30 And I like that. But down low, they kind of move and I don't like that . And of course Instagram ads come in, they just know me.
08:39 They know what my underwear situation is. How do they know that? I don't know. But this ad pops up hoo-ha underwear.
08:46 I was sold immediately. like, I need these, I need these. They also use different material, which I bought them cuz they, they say like they fit the Gus Gusset area.
08:59 That's something basically the space in between your legs, it's gonna fit better than your average underwear. We'll see, I will have to come back to you with a review.
09:11 But they swear that like it's all about the fit. And then they started using better materials. So the girl, there's a whole story about the girl, why she created it.
09:21 And it's, I guess a lot of underwear use nylon and synthetic fibers that are, that will hold bacteria and they're not good for your skin.
09:32 So she started using, you know, these what is in here, like 10 cell and, and micro and different fibers that are better for you.
09:44 And they are, yeah, we're gonna listen. I will come back to you with a full review. Minerals are unfavorable for bacteria growth.
09:51 Fibers are derived from trees protected with natural mineral and zinc or zinc is the na, I don't know. We're gonna, we're gonna find out.
10:01 I will come back. I ordered two pairs. Okay, they're expensive. These are like more than Victoria's Secret underwear, but I'm biting a bullet for for us.
10:12 I'll try 'em out and I'll report back. Okay? So that's what I've ordered recently. A couple new shows I watched I tuned into on Netflix.
10:20 There's one called Untold Crime and Penalty. It's about a hockey team in Connecticut, which is like, it just hit close to home because I wasn't living Massachusetts for all those years and I never heard of this hockey team.
10:33 And it's about this, this supposed mafia guy buys a hockey team for his son who is a senior in high school, to run.
10:42 And they were kind of like this, every, every guy. And this is like, just like a barbaric like kind of crazy guy, even including the team that they built.
10:52 Like it's, I was like, this is interesting. And I didn't know if I liked it, but it just got better.
10:59 And then when I got to the end I was like, oh my gosh, that was like really heartwarming. You gotta watch it.
11:03 If you like hockey and you're in the New England area, you, I think you'll like it. . I also watch, I've been tuning into Hulu on my sister's account.
11:13 , I watch some of the episodes of the show called Secrets of Playboy. And I, I really wanted to watch it because I watched the girls next door a lot when I was, I, I don't know when it came out like high school kind of age.
11:28 Like, I mean there were so many of us that were fascinated by these, the girls next door, Holly, Bridget and Kendra.
11:35 Like, hello, those are household names. So I really wanted to tune into that. And it was really eye-opening. It was honestly like really sad that I didn't watch every episode.
11:46 I just watched. There's one that's like all Holly talking about her experience. And then there's another one with the twins who ended up being like one of Hugh Hefner's last girlfriends before he got married and died on rest in peace.
12:04 . But it was really sad, like hearing all these girls tell their story, which we all thought was like so fun and glamorous and in reality, like they were not having the time of their lives over there.
12:15 Okay, so you could check it out if that sounds interesting. Another one that I'm in the middle of that like I have to watch when Justin's not around because he has no interest in it, but the Victoria's Secret Angels and Demons is on Hulu and it's very similar and it's showing like what was really going on with Victoria's Secret, the history of Victoria's Secret, like the models, like the catalog.
12:38 It started with a catalog. Victoria's Secret was started by a man who felt embarrassed buying his wife sexy underwear. And he was like, wouldn't it be nice to just order from a catalog and just pick out, pick it out from the comfort of your home.
12:51 You get that catalog in the mail, flip through it, pick out the bra and underwear, the lingerie, whatever, you cut it out.
12:58 It was like in the nineties or eight eighties maybe, I don't know. They cut it out. You mail it in with some money.
13:05 , like super old school. That's how it was created. And like what happened where it got to Les Les Wexner, I think that's his name.
13:14 He owns like Abercrombie and Fitch. He bought it. He owns like the limited brands, like he owns a lot of retail and he was involved with Jeffrey Epstein.
13:24 So like, I'm just getting into it, but I'm watching it here and there. Also, the last thing I'll mention is we watch or we're, my sister has really good recommendations of shows that will get you hooked.
13:38 A lot of 'em are violent, but for some reason I just wanna keep watching. So this one is on Amazon Prime and it's called Your Honor.
13:47 The whole thing is about, there's a judge and there's the mafia. The judge's son is young, he's in high school and he is driving, he accidentally kills in a car accident, the son of the Mafia.
14:02 And that happens in the first episode. It's like the whole basis of the, of the mo of the show. It's a docu non documentary , a series.
14:11 It's regular tv, like an entertaining show. So the first episode was kind of hard to get through. Then we get to the second one, we're like, oh, gotta watch the next one.
14:20 We get to the third and then we realize you have to pay for it to watch the rest. My sister did not give me a heads up about that, but we spent the 1999 and we are now on episode.
14:31 We've, we've watched five episodes. So, and it, and it's good. It's like what's gonna happen? Oh, and we have a lot of people visiting in the next couple weeks.
14:40 Justin's dad's coming down. We have people here right now staying with us friends. So I don't know, I'm like, when am I gonna get to watch my show again?
14:48 Cuz at night we're just like hanging out. But I'm like, like, I really wanna watch another episode. . Okay, so that's what I've been watching.
14:57 That's a little update for you workouts. I am on week four right now of my level two. I did Total Body today and it's going great.
15:07 I missed two workouts last week and I haven't decided. I'm like, I kind of wanna go back and like, as much as I say, like, don't, you don't have to pick up where you left off, just pick up where you are.
15:18 Yes. I'm like, yes, okay. I'm just gonna keep going on Monday. I'm on Monday, so it's Monday, I'm doing the Tuesday, I'm gonna do Tuesday's workout.
15:25 But part of me, it's like, dang, I missed two workouts. When I feel inspired to go back and do them, I will do them.
15:35 But I also have been filming workouts for Mom Fuel. And if you're unaware, mom Fuel is my monthly membership. We add new workouts every month in there.
15:43 That's a place to tuck in, find accountability. You get free access to future challenges and you get exclusive merch shop.
15:52 So there's a lot. Mom feels where it's at, honestly. Right now there's a free week trial. I'll put that link in Bio free week.
16:00 You can test it out, just pop in, look at the workouts. There are so many, like it is, it's, it's been over a year.
16:07 I've been adding workouts to it every single month. There's gotta be close to a hundred workouts right now, and for free right now.
16:14 You can go in there and do any of the workouts, any, I'm scrolling through. We got core, we got cardio, we got sculpt, we got strength.
16:22 And then there's also postpartum recovery videos in there. If you are a new mom, please share those with your mom friends, let them check out.
16:29 Do do the workouts for free for a whole week. And if you love it, stick around. If you don't, you lost nothing.
16:36 All right. Link will be in the show notes. Let's get into my story. I don't wanna go all the way back to my ch childhood, but basically I grew up playing a lot of sports.
16:47 Like Four Seasons. We were like, sports was just part of our life. So very athletic background. I mean, I say that , but I also like look at myself and I'm like, I'm, I was so long and lanky, like, I don't know.
17:01 I, I wasn't the most athletic looking athlete, but I I did cross country, field hockey, basketball, softball, and, and then yeah, those are like the four main ones I played one year, one season of college field hockey.
17:17 I got really into running. I ran a couple half marathons or a few half marathons, and then one full marathon.
17:23 So after college I stayed, that's when I started going to the gym. I talked, I talked more about like my routines and like gym experience in a, in a former episode called Our Morning Workout's Bad for you so you can go back and listen to that.
17:38 And yeah, so I was in my gym era after college. And those few years after we got married, that was my jam.
17:47 I love the gym. I got, got pregnant with Ayla and things, my workouts had to change. They just, as much as I didn't want them to, I was pregnant and I couldn't do, like, I was doing crazy workouts at the gym.
18:01 So I was like, wow, geez. Yeah, I, I feel like I'm so tired. I don't want to do those workouts.
18:07 I can't do a burpee. Like I can't get my chest to the floor and my bell's in the way of a lot of things.
18:14 So it just, I couldn't do it. And it was, I was honestly kind of upset. I was like mad. I did not like being pregnant that first time around.
18:20 It was so uncomfortable. Like, ugh, it was tough. My first pregnancy was rough and I actually swore to myself, I will never be pregnant again.
18:30 I never wanna forget this . I was kinda like angry. Like it was hard for me. And I know a lot of people can relate to that.
18:37 But so after I had Ayla, I realized I was teaching at the time and I was like, oh shoot, I have to put her in daycare.
18:46 And I always thought like, I'm not gonna be a daycare mom. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I just like couldn't envision dropping my kids off at daycare and then going to work every single day.
18:58 Like to me that I just, my mind, I, I wasn't familiar with that. Like, my mom was home with us.
19:04 She was your home mom for a long time. So like, I had never been to daycare. I didn't know what daycare was like.
19:11 A lot of my friends were also like, their moms were stay-at-home moms. So like, I, I didn't understand, like I, I didn't know the world.
19:19 Like what, what to, what to think about it. I I just thought like, I don't, I didn't want that. But there I was in on my maternity leave going back in a couple weeks and I'm like, shoot, I gotta find a daycare.
19:32 Like, I don't know who's gonna watch her, who's gonna watch ala, who's gonna watch my little baby? My parents work.
19:38 They can't do it. Justin's parents aren't available. Like everyone I know has like, who? Oh, I was like, wow, okay, so daycare, it is, we found a great at-home daycare.
19:51 Jen Condo, shout out to you. Little chickies, childcare Westminster, Massachusetts. Like she started going there and we loved it. But going to work every day, got really exhausting.
20:01 for, I mean, being a mom, you know, you're tired. You, you're, you're pumping on your lunch breaks, you're pumping all the time.
20:09 The milk, the bottles, the pump, like cleaning, everything. Like, I didn't like that. The drop offs, the pickups, and then trying to get everything done on the weekends.
20:18 And I just was like, I don't wanna do this. I don't wanna do this. And like teaching wasn't going great.
20:26 Like, I was like, this feels more like, it feels like hard work. Teaching is hard. Like teachers that have to be motivated every single day and then to show up and motivate other kids to wanna be in the room.
20:39 That's hard work. . It's exhausting. So when I didn't wanna be there, I was like, oh shoot. Like I can't, I can't do this to, to the students.
20:48 Like they need a teacher who wants to be here, number one. So I started noticing that, and this is ala six months old now.
20:55 We've been doing the daycare thing for three months and I'm like, gosh, I really just wanna start a business so that I don't have to go to go into work.
21:05 I could work for myself. So that was a thought in my head. I was like, what if I started a business , but I was like, what am I, what am I gonna do for a business?
21:16 I don't know. So a whole year goes by and I'm still doing the same thing. And I was like, you know what?
21:24 I really want to, to take that seriously, that thought. So now it's 2018. I'm like, I wanna start a business.
21:31 Like what is it gonna be? Hmm, let's think about it. , I had no idea. I actually joined like a business like mastermind for female business entrepreneurs.
21:44 I I was a teacher full-time and a mom, so I had no business joining us, but I was like, you know what?
21:50 I got like a fitness Instagram. So I've got something . At the time I think I had 5,000 followers. And it was because I was part of, actually this isn't the reason, but I was part doing Tone It Up workouts before I got pregnant with Ayla in addition to the gym.
22:09 Like, I just made a lot of friends in that community. And, and then I got into like the fitness community, which was a lot smaller back then.
22:18 I'm talking like 2013 to 2015. And then I had ALA in 2016. And so I had a small audience and I was like, okay, I wanna help help my audience.
22:31 Like I want people to like have a happier, like better life. Like how do I make a business like ?
22:37 Like what, what do I do? What do I do? Tell me. So I'm in this mastermind and I basically just listened for three months of these other women talking about what, you know, their businesses and what they did and you know, how, how they were working on coaching programs and different kinds of coaching, like relationship coaching and mindset and hormone balance, you know, coaches like nutrition and just all different things.
23:07 And I had a lot, I felt like I had a lot of good ideas for them, . But I was like, it would get to me my turn to talk.
23:15 And I was like, well, I was thinking of maybe doing like a goal setting course. And everyone's like okay, why don't you just do fitness Kim?
23:23 And I was like, I don't, no, no , no one wants that from me. Like, I wanna do goal setting and like happiness coaching .
23:32 Which when I say that out loud, I'm like, oh, cringe, what was that? What? I don't know. But during this time I was still working out and I was sharing my workouts, which is so interesting.
23:44 It's like, why didn't I like, it's like the signs were all there. Kim Fitness create something. I was doing motivation Motivated Mama, and we were doing like a week of workouts, .
23:59 But in my mind I was like, this isn't a business, this is just my workouts. And what happened was I was sharing these like awesome, like intense hit workouts and I was recording 'em and one morning I press record, I do this intense work.
24:16 I felt like crap. Like I was in my first trimester pregnant with Rosie and I didn't know it. I felt terrible.
24:24 And I'm trying to do this workout. I get through it, I go to stop and it didn't ever record. And I just want, I think I cried.
24:32 I was like, I cannot do that again. That was so hard. I'm so tired. Actually maybe I knew I was pregnant.
24:38 I'm thinking back, I'm like, this was five years ago. Either way I was like, oh my gosh, I, I am not doing that workout again.
24:47 There's like tuck jumps in there like crazy, like box jumps, tuck jump, like jump. And I'm like, oh, just the thought of it right now.
24:54 I'm like, I don't, I don't wanna do that right now, let alone in my first trimester. So I had the idea and I also had people do who were doing these like motivation mama workouts saying, Kim, is there a modification for that move?
25:11 Because it's really hard. And I, that was my light bulb moment, like, wow, I don't wanna do the move. These girls are saying it's too hard.
25:21 What if I modified it? Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, , ding, ding, ding. Because my workouts at the time, they were great.
25:29 Like hit workouts, quick, effective, you know, reus, our total body. You're getting the sweat, you're building strength, the cardio's there, like it's all there.
25:40 But the moves were really extreme, especially if you're new to exercise or if you're pregnant or if you're tired cuz you have a bunch of kids.
25:49 Like where's the happy in between? And that's when I created the happy in between. So this masterclass or mastermind, three months of it comes to an end when I realize I'm pregnant and then it all starts to make sense.
26:08 All of like, okay, I'm gonna modify all these workouts. Like I know how I had to do it when I was pregnant with Ayla Plus what I was watching all these other girls create and how they were talking.
26:19 I was watching all these other girls create like their courses and how they were gonna share them with their audience and what marketing is and just very basic business building tools they were sharing.
26:33 I was like, oh wow, now I have this, these modified workouts for pregnancy that are great for new moms, future moms, pregnant moms.
26:42 And I have the tools that I learned from them. We're gonna put this all together. So I went on, this is again, 2018, I'm still pregnant with Rosie.
26:50 I get certified in pre postnatal fitness and I keep moving forward. I'm like, wow, this is so cool. I make my first pregnancy program, which was an 80 page pdf.
27:01 Oh my gosh, 80 page pdf. Thinking about that now I'm like, why would you ever do that ? And another piece of this that was so special to me is that I felt like I was helping other moms or women who were feeling alone or isolated or frustrated with their workouts because that's how I felt when I was pregnant with Ayla.
27:25 It, I felt excluded from the fitness community because back then it, it's a little different now with like the whole self-love movement.
27:35 But there used to be so many like before and after pictures, you know, the before picture and then the after picture all toned and sculpted and I am just growing.
27:44 I feel not as strong as I used to. I, yeah, it was just hard. It's hard when you were in that world of fitness and strength and health and you start to feel tired and slowed down and bigger and it's out of your control.
28:03 I know I'm not the only one who struggled with that. Not so much even like what I looked like, but just how I felt for someone who is healthy and strong and exercises regularly and you know, really wants to feel good and you don't have control over how your body feels anymore.
28:23 That was frustrating for me. So I wanted to help other pregnant women feel better, have more energy, re alleviate those symptoms of pregnancy, help with that back pain and even have a better labor.
28:38 Like exercise doesn't have to be extreme to be beneficial. It doesn't have to be the hardest workout for you to feel your best.
28:47 You can still feel good doing a modified workout. So I was so happy to deliver these , deliver these as I'm about to deliver my baby.
28:59 So now it's flash forward, Rosie's born, my audience starts to grow to 10,000, which I was like, yes, I have made it.
29:07 This is back in the day when like you needed 10,000 to use the link feature on Instagram. Oh my gosh, I was so excited.
29:15 Mostly because I wanted to link baby products that I was buying, like things that I was sharing or talking about.
29:22 You know, there's pictures of different things in my videos and I wanted to be able to like link them and now it's available to everybody.
29:30 But back then it was a big deal. It was like 10,000. I'm dusting my shoulders off, like I made it, I'm here.
29:36 We have the link feature . I just thought that was so cool. But also I was like, wow, look at this community and what it, what it was was the fitness community.
29:48 I felt like they started getting pregnant too. Like right during that year, all of the women that I was following and they were following me, they started getting pregnant.
29:58 So they started doing my workouts and I was like, oh my gosh, this is so cool. So I have Rosie now I'm not pregnant anymore.
30:07 And I'm like, well shoot, I can do those postpartum workouts now that I learned about and my training when I got pre postnatal certified.
30:15 So I do, I create abs after baby and I quit my teaching job. I went on, I had my maternity leave from October until like January 1st.
30:27 And I just didn't go back and it was really cool. . It was scary. Listen, listen, it was scary cuz mind you, I didn't have a business like just earlier that year.
30:38 So now to tell Justin like, yeah, I'm not going back. I'm gonna like, I'm gonna sell workouts. he wasn't, he was very skeptical.
30:50 But it worked out. it did, it worked out, it worked out for us. So we kept going. I just kept adding to my programs.
30:59 I added workouts, I made them better. I switched everything over to video format. I filmed every workout. I added specialists in there.
31:09 So I have a pelvic floor specialist, I have a nutritionist. I added ambassadors to bring more diversity and variety to my workouts.
31:16 I'm constantly trying to better everything that I do. And then meanwhile, I'm, I'm making more friends on Instagram. I meet, I'm getting to meet people in person.
31:26 This is like 2019 now. And there's events, there's like social media type events and entrepreneur events, which I thought was really cool.
31:39 So I just got to be in the world like physically and, you know, on my phone. Like, oh, things were just thriving and it still are.
31:47 But then 2020 I got pregnant with Blake. 2020 happened. And I, like I said, I conti, that's actually 2020 is when I added my ambassadors in my audience continued to grow.
32:01 And I feel like every pregnancy I've been able to connect with so many more moms because of just the timing.
32:06 Like anyone who was pregnant in 2020, we all bonded. Anyone that was pregnant in 2018, I bonded with them. Like we have that bond of what it was like to be pregnant in that year at that time.
32:19 And now have two year olds or three year olds, or four, however old our kids are. They're growing together and we're experiencing new things together, which is what I love about the community that we've created is we are going through it together.
32:33 It makes me so happy because like in real life, I, I do have mom friends, but I feel like, feel like I've been able to learn so much through my community and what even like, what people are just posting about, like reels I see are tos and like the conversations that are happening that sometimes don't happen in real life.
32:52 Like what I see people talk about online is different than the conversations people have in real life. They're kinda like, it's seeing your inner thoughts online or someone else's inner thoughts that you're like, wow, yes.
33:04 Oh my God, I can relate to that. Yeah, I hate bedtime routine and potty training too. Like , those are my least favorite things.
33:10 Or, oh, that's a hack. I didn't know about that. Like, you just learn so much online. So it's been really cool.
33:19 And that's kind of my basic story of like, wow, we got here, this is where we are now. And now I feel like a lot of my content, while it's not so much pregnancy focused, I still do offer my pre prenatal workouts.
33:32 I am still recording pregnancy friendly workouts that go into month every month and adding to the fit pregnancy program as needed.
33:42 I, I, I like to talk just like mom, mom talk like, not mommy . I feel like there's a difference between mommy talk like mommy bloggers and then like moms.
33:56 I don't know. Does that make sense? You know what I mean? Like, that's what I said about my podcast. I'm like, I don't want this to be like a mommy blog.
34:04 Like I, I don't want, I want it to be like a friend. Like we're people too. Like we're not just somebody's mommy .
34:11 So that is how we got here. I have also hosted an event last year was the first event. I would love to be able to host retreats for us where you can come, come one, come all come.
34:28 It's a mom's getaway. Because here's the thing, we don't take the time to plan trips for ourselves. We don't make the plan.
34:36 Like we have so much to do on a day-to-day. Okay? So much to do every week. It's, we don't make the time for ourselves to get away.
34:45 We don't make it a priority. Do we want to? Yes, but does it happen? No, it just doesn't happen. The getaways, the trips.
34:55 So I wanna book it, I wanna do all the planning for you. All you have to do is get here.
35:00 All you have to do is book the flight or call the babysitter or say, Hey hun, I'm going away that weekend.
35:07 You're gonna be here all day with the kids, just you. It's gonna be fine. All you're gonna be good. I'll be on a beach with Kim.
35:17 But here's my idea. It's gonna be like there, they'll be like a schedule itinerary, but it's up to you. Do you wanna participate?
35:26 Like, everything is optional. So it's like 8:00 AM coffee time, tea time, sunrise, chat, like chill, chill chat on the beach.
35:35 But if you wanna sleep until 10 30 girl you sleep in. And then an am yoga or a workout. And then we'll do smoothies and asai bowls and then there'll be a spa time where you can get a spa service, massage, facial hydro, facial manicure.
35:58 And then pool will lay by the pool a sunset yoga. And then we'll have like a cook make us dinner.
36:05 Are you like in love with this idea? Because it needs to happen. I'm telling you. Everything will be like, all you have to do is show up.
36:14 Just show up with a bikini and some yoga pants, which I know you're already wearing. , maybe a fresh, cute pair of pajamas for our slumber party.
36:25 Oh my gosh, I want this so bad. I want this to happen. Would you come? Please tell me because I'm dreaming about like, this is like the future for us.
36:34 The future for the you're glowing retreat. Oh, in person. Oh my gosh, that would be so fun. Okay, so retreat.
36:42 This podcast is up and running, which I might add is a labor of love right now. This is just, it's fun for me.
36:48 I love recording these episodes, but I do not make a single dollar doing it. I'm actually like spending money to put it together.
36:56 But I, I know what this is gonna do for our community and bringing us together even more. And oh my gosh, I have, I just have big goals, visions, not goals.
37:07 It's just like a vision. Like I just picture us hanging out in person, chatting in real life, having more back and forth because right now it's just me talking and you're listening, which I appreciate so, so much.
37:19 But if we can get brands to sponsor these episodes to help pay for the retreat, it's gonna bring your ticket price down, it, it's gonna help.
37:30 So if you could share this podcast, spread the word about it, get more people listening, tuning in. It'll be better.
37:37 It'll be better for all of us in the ro long run. Brands will be sponsoring. Maybe we even adding, we'll have a swag bag at our retreat.
37:44 Ooh, I have, I'm seeing it now. All right. Also things that are coming up. I just got off a call with my team.
37:52 I wanna do some challenges coming up this spring and summer. Mother's Day coming up again. I host an annual baby shower every June to raise money and donations for moms and families in need, which is one of like my favorite things to do.
38:11 This will be the fourth annual baby shower. Oh my gosh, where is the time going? And just raising my babies over here.
38:18 Just trying to do my best. I feel like my approach to parenting is pretty laid back while also having high expectations for myself that I can never meet , but I wanna be like a chill parent, but I also want a clean house and I want my, my kids to be nice people.
38:36 So we're trying to, we're trying to figure that out over here. And in the meantime that, I mean, that is my story for you.
38:43 That's it. Like, that's how I got to, how my, my programs were created and my audience grew, and now I have this amazing community, which you are a part of.
38:53 And I'm so happy that you're here. So happy. Thank you for listening to my story today, and I will see you in the next episode.
